Things to do in coronavirus break at your home
Recently, coronavirus has been a big threat to all the countries around the world and most of them have advised people to stay indoors and avoid meeting other people. Its perhaps is the best thing that we can do to avoid spreading this more but let’s be honest, it is difficult to stay home and do nothing in this coronavirus break. It can take a toll on your mental health.
I have heard people saying they wish they could have the vacation for 1 week and do nothing but they are not aware of the consequences of this. It could be terrifying not to do anything, not to meet any other person for a week. I personally have been in a No Work Mode for 2 weeks and going crazy about what should I do.
Well, as you know, every cloud has a silver lining. So I have listed out a few things that you can do to make most out of this coronavirus break – quarantine phase in this pandemic.
10 Things you can do in your home on Coronavirus break
1) Learn a new language
It’s important to keep your brain healthy, a quick workout for your brain could be really helpful in this situation. This isn’t something which you could achieve in an hour or two. It will take time and hence will keep you occupied. Try learning the language of the country you would like to visit next when this pandemic is over. This will keep you motivated.
Commit a certain amount of time learning a new language from scratch, or refresh your memory of the one you’re already familiar with. You can try Duolingo, OpenCulture, live mocha, etc.
2) Get creative
Pick up a paper, pen or paintbrush and throw some bold strokes on the canvas. It doesn’t matter if you have never picked up a brush before or you were a master of arts in your school days, use this time to push recreational buttons of your brain. It will really help you relax and might cheer up your mood.
You can also try to do crafting like making a collage, make a card, create a entangles, creating a doodle. Refer to online videos on YouTube about how to start with this.
3) Cooking
Not only is the recreational activity, but also a basic requirement for living. You can zest up things by looking for a new recipe or try some dishes that you haven’t coked before. This would be a really good time to exercise those culinary muscles in you.
Search in your fridge or order something online if you can, for cooking materials and look for a cookbook that is under the layer of dust or go online to get some latest recipe. You never know you might mix up recipes to create a new dish for yourself.
4) Complete the To-Do list
We all have that incomplete to-do list that we have created long back. Use this coronavirus break to take it out and start completing those tasks one by one. Pick something that you can get done at home, or sort out from your computer, and do it! It’ll probably be far less difficult than you think.
5) Update your CV and LinkedIn
When was the last time you updated your CV? Even though you are not looking for new opportunities as of now its always a good thing to keep your CV updated to the point. Also fine-tune your LinkedIn profile.
You never know when an opportunity comes knocking on your door. Update your CV right now.
6) Get Fit
Health is always something that is looked upon while we are constantly working on our day job. Use this home quarantine time to get some yoga sessions at home. There are free or paid apps out there; also, there are tons of videos on YouTube to get you started.
You can also try Zumba or Home Workout or even meditation for getting fit body and mind.
7) Read a book or blog
I have always heard telling people that they don’t have time to read a book. Well, this is the time that you can use. Instead of worrying and reading about the coronavirus pandemic why not take up a good book or E-book that you can read. It will help your mind to get diverted in a positive way in this coronavirus break.
Sit in a comfy chair with a hot beverage and get lost in another world.
8) Clean your home
Not a regular cleaning but deep cleaning. Deep cleaning will make you feel like you have achieved something and leave you more at ease in your home.
Clean your Fridge or soap down the walls and get rid of those finger marks from the glass of center table, dining table or mirror. Clean your windows. Look for things that you have become blind to in your regular life.
9) Clean out your social media – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
This is one of the last things to do but is a valid option on this pandemic. Open up your social media accounts, and get rid of all those unwanted people and things that you have been thinking to remove since forever. Clean up your feed.
10) Try out a new Hairstyle or experiment with your hairs
Since you cannot go out and get your hair did from Salon why not use this time to get crazy with your hairs. Lookup for some YouTube videos and get yourself an amazing hairstyle, even if something went wrong there is no one that you are going to meet in the next few days 😉
