Either rest or Come out best
Have you ever had the feeling of boredom, stillness, and dreariness in your life?
Have you ever felt like something has stopped suddenly and now nothing can be done to start it again?
If you have, then this is the place for you.
Sometimes in our lives, a phase comes when we feel like life has become stagnant, it has stopped working efficiently, no joy, no adventure is left in it.
And this particular phase doesn’t only attack the adults but also the young adults.
The young adults, like me, are more prone to fall into the vicious trap of boredom, disappointment, and stillness in life. What we feel is not exactly expressible, we can’t decide what to do, we don’t like what we are doing, we can’t decide whether our efforts are worthwhile or not, whether we are moving in the right direction or not!
So the question is how to handle these thoughts. These thoughts not only affect our interpersonal and intrapersonal relations and behavior but also deteriorate our performance in whatever field we are working in.
Science states that every creature in this world wants stability. Even the smallest unit of matter- “atom” is also always trying to be in a stable state. But the irony is that to be in the stable state the electrons have to work continuously, they keep on jumping from excited states to ground states so that their atom can live in peace.
What I want to say here is that one has to continuously keep moving from one stage to another, to keep up with the pace of the world.
Hence whenever you feel the humdrum, boredom, and exertion due to life – just hang in there. As Mahir Ul Qadri says:
“Ye kah ke dil ne mire hausale badhaye hai
Gamon ki dhoop ke agey Khushi ke saye hai”
Which loosely translates to, my heart always encourages me by saying, if there is sorrow today then there has to be joy tomorrow.
Since my message is targeting the youth, the future of society. I can’t stop myself from quoting Aizaz Rahmani
“Abhi se paanv ke chaale na dekho
Abhi yaaron Safar ki ibtida hai”
meaning, the journey has just started, don’t be tired so soon. To make a long story short, whenever you feel like there’s no kick in your life, just use the self-start (Pun intended)
You are the one who can make your life wonderful.
Just look around yourself, you will find your loved ones who are always standing by you doesn’t matter what situation you may be in, they don’t leave the court when you are alone in trouble and then look around the beautiful nature, it’s always changing to keep up with the evolving and always growing world. Adapting and moving forward are two key things that can take you up the ladder of success.

Even a small plant in your garden keeps struggling with life. Every day it shed some of its dead leaves and flowers to make space for the new ones. If it keeps clinging to. the existing leaves and flowers then new fresh leaves and beautiful flowers won’t be able to come out.
Similarly, we should also keep space for something new to come either it be joy or sorrow, because these are things that break the monotony of life and keep us alive. And that’s how life becomes interesting. No?
At last, I would say every cloud has a silver lining. Hence we should not feel disappointed if something is not working in our life at present because it surely will in the near future.
Also, change is the only constant. So don’t let anything dominate your mind in adversities. Never let anything go out of your hands because if you can’t do it nobody else can.
Just as Helen Hayes said, “If you rest, You rust”. So keep on moving. You can either rest or come out best!

I agree! There will be struggles in life but never give up. You’ll discover more opportunities when you get out of your comfort zone and it’s important to surround yourself with kind people.
During these difficult times, this was an uplifting reminder to lean on family and to be as flexible as possible. I needed the reminder no to try to do everything on my own.
Such an inspiring post to energize and get motivated!
I love the quote, “if you rest you rust”! Such true words that apply to everything in life. Great post and I’m going out today!
This part is really true for me: “Just look around yourself, you will find your loved ones who are always standing by you…” I am so grateful for my family every day. Lately it is a difficult time for our nation and our communities, but my family keeps me strong.
This is a great reflective piece and is so true. We really must keep moving forwards, changing and adapting.
